About StatsSolve

StatsSolve is a small set of free statistics calculators built for people who need a correct answer and an explanation of how it was reached — not just a number.

What StatsSolve Is

StatsSolve is a free, ad-supported website that hosts step-by-step statistics calculators alongside plain-language explanations of the math behind them. It started because most calculators online give you a single output and nothing else — no formula, no worked steps, no context for what the number actually means.

The site is built for three kinds of visitors: students working through a probability or stats course who need to check homework and actually understand the steps, teachers and tutors who want a quick reference or a worked example to show a class, and analysts who need a fast, reliable calculation without opening a stats package or rebuilding a spreadsheet formula from scratch.

How the Calculators Are Built

Every calculator on this site is built from the standard formula for its distribution — the same definitions you'd find in a statistics textbook or a reference like NIST's Engineering Statistics Handbook — and each one is checked against known worked examples and, where possible, against results from established statistical software before it goes live.

Each calculator page also shows its work: the formula used, the inputs you entered, and the intermediate steps, not just the final probability or value. That's deliberate. If you can't see how a number was produced, you can't check it, and you shouldn't have to trust it blindly. We'd rather a page be a little longer and actually teach you something than be a black box.

If you ever spot a calculation that looks wrong, tell us — see the contact section below. We fix reported errors as fast as we can and treat them seriously.

Get in Touch

StatsSolve is run by a small team, not a company with a support department. If you find a bug, want to request a calculator, or just want to say a formula's explanation is confusing, email us directly and a real person on the team will read it.
