What Is StatsSolve?
StatsSolve is a free collection of statistics and probability calculators built for students, teachers, and analysts who need more than a single number. Every calculator shows the formula it uses, the values plugged into that formula, and — where it helps — a chart of the distribution, so you can see exactly how the result was reached.
The library currently covers four calculators: Binomial Distribution, Binomial Probability, Normal Curve, and Poisson Distribution. Each one is built around a real statistics course topic, not a generic input-output box, and new calculators are added as they’re built, tested, and checked against the standard formula for that distribution.
StatsSolve exists because most calculators online return an answer and nothing else. If you don’t understand why a probability comes out to “0.24” instead of “0.76,” or why “at least” gives a different number than “exactly,” the answer isn’t actually useful. StatsSolve keeps the math visible at every step instead of hiding it behind a single result box.

Graphs help users understand distributions and selected outcomes.
Responsive layouts work clearly on phones, tablets, and desktop.
Calculate it, then understand what the result means
A useful statistics tool should help users interpret the answer, not just generate it. StatsSolve combines calculation, formulas, visual context, and plain-language explanations.
Why explanation matters
Statistics questions often go wrong before the arithmetic even begins. Choosing the wrong probability type, using the wrong boundary, or misunderstanding “at least” and “at most” can change the answer completely.
That is why the calculator experience is designed to keep the mathematical setup visible while giving you a fast result.
- ✓See the selected probability mode
Know exactly what event the calculator is evaluating. - ✓Review the formula and interpretation
Connect the numerical answer to the original problem. - ✓Use the graph as a visual check
See which outcomes are included in the probability.
A result you can actually read
The current binomial tool returns the core statistics and explains the selected event in one place.
Useful for learning, teaching, and checking work
The interface is intentionally simple enough for beginners while still showing the information needed by users who want to verify a statistical calculation.
Students
Check homework, understand probability notation, compare exact and cumulative results, and learn from the formula and graph instead of copying a number.
Teachers & tutors
Use a clear visual tool to demonstrate how changing the inputs — trials, probability of success, mean, standard deviation — changes a probability distribution, whether you’re teaching binomial, normal, or Poisson problems.
Analysts & practical users
Quickly verify probability calculations across binomial, normal, and Poisson problems, and inspect mean, variance, standard deviation, and the exact region of the distribution you selected.
Four ideas that make binomial problems easier
These concepts help users choose the correct inputs before pressing Calculate.
Start with a fixed number of trials
A binomial model begins with a known number of repeated trials, such as 10 coin flips or 15 free throws.
Define what counts as success
Success is simply the event you are counting. It could be a head, a correct answer, a response, or a defective item.
Read the inequality carefully
“Exactly,” “at most,” “at least,” and “between” describe different probability events and should not be treated as the same calculation.
Interpret the answer in context
A probability becomes useful when you relate it back to the original question and explain what the selected outcome means.
